About Me

I love to learn.

It’s said that we stand on the shoulders of giants, and I couldn’t agree more. Thanks to the likes of a variety of anthropologists, journalists, and adventurers (among others) my understanding of the human species has changed for the better. Christopher McDougall in “Born to Run”writes of Tarahumara natives who run for two days straight, stumping our dependency on the modern shoe. In “Deep” by James Nestor, one learns that any human is capable of holding their breath for several minutes, due to a biological reflex inside every one of us. Alex Honnold in the film “Free Solo” proves to us that man can conquer 3000 feet of granite, with just his body. Wade Davis in “The Wayfinders,” writes of polynesian tribes who sail the barest of oceans, without GPS, but can somehow land their boat to the only dry land within hundreds of miles. What more can we discover about others, and ultimately, ourselves?

It’s the discovery of these ancient - or even forgotten - forms of knowledge that drives me forward.
